2009 Cadillac XLR-V

With an upgraded version of Cadillac XLR, programmed for release in july, it seems that General Motors it’s hardly working on the new project. The prototype was spotted while testing by Brenda Priddy’s spy photographer and frequent Jalopnik contributor Chris Doane.
The camouflage it’s doing a great job covering the details of the new car, but Doane claims the grille is the same wire mesh with the big Cadillac badge that it is expected from the Caddy’s V-Series and the new vertical fender vents ahead of the doors but the spies are guessing it’s a lot like the fender vent on the Provoq concept. XLR is based on the Chevrolet Corvette and the refreshed XLR V-Series gets moderate changes to the front and rear.

The “supercharged” logo on the side of new XLR-V makes us wonder what it is hidden under the hood; it could be the carryover 4.4L Northstar V8 that’s supercharged to make 443 horsepower or the same LSA motor getting dropped into the 2009 CTS-V a supercharged 6.2L small-block V8 engine that produces 550 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque.
Caddy’s premium hard-top convertible it is equipped with automatic transmission that is electronically controlled, manual maneuvering without a clutch, Magnetic Ride Control, performance brakes, 19 inch wheels, Intellibeam headlights and much more.
